In today’s bonus episode of This Day in Miami History, Matthew Bunch speaks to Rev. Msgr. Pablo Navarro (pictured in episode artwork, top right), who helped organize Pope John Paul II’s visit to Miami as priest-secretary to Archbishop Edward A. McCarthy. Msgr. Navarro discusses the logistics of a visit from a man who is both a head of state and the Vicar of Christ, as well as what it was like sharing a one-on-one meal with a man who would become a saint.
